yes, I wanted to have each widget spread across the entire footer area, in one column, rather than split into three columns because I don't see how else to avoid the icons all bunching up together on a smaller screen size
So... I've changed the above code to 'width 100%' and I'm using two widget areas, and they are now looking like I'd like them to on big screens.
My only remaining question re: this is :
When the icons re-position onto small screens (below around 400px), do they always have to go into one column only?
My icons are only 84px wide, so two could hopefully, fit onto a phone screen.
