Thanks for the reply - unfortunately, there is nothing under the "footer widget area" section you referenced, so I cannot remove it. Am I missing something?
I would like to edit/remove the entire section with the black background, including :
-Weblizar logo
--Following description
-Recent Posts
--All sidebar post examples
-Get in touch section
--Edit the address; phone, email, etc.
-Photostream
